Tour Blog 3: South Street Arts Centre, Reading
Day 3 began with a lazy morning in Bristol catching up with my brother and some friends in a cafe in Bedminster. From there I caught the train to Reading where I met up with the rest of the band at South Street Arts Centre. Once sound checking and merchandise arranging were out of the way, we headed off for a quick eating session in a wonderfully vibrant cafe across the road.
Thence followed a great gig: once more the audience were friendly and receptive. They had been positioned in cabaret style around the room (i.e sat at tables). Once the gig had finished we packed away and headed to our hotel, only to realise that James the Bass had left his car keys in a plastic cup in the dressing room. So we both set off back to the venue on foot, with my satnav, Hilda as guide. Once back at the hotel we enjoyed some fine wines before heading to bed. Being the only girl in the band I have the luxury of a single room. The following morning we arose early in order to get back to Devon quickly, saddened by the news of Steven Gately’s death.
