This week has brought more radio play for Jackie’s single ‘Birthday’ (release Nov 2nd) with John Kennedy on XFM giving it another spin on Tuesday (29th) and Steve Lamacq also playing ‘Birthday’ on his show on yesterday (30th).  ‘Past Caring’ the final track from ‘Hyperboreans’ was also played yesterday on The Mike Harding Show on Radio 2.

On Tuesday (22nd) Jackie single ‘Birthday’ was played on XFM in London on John Kennedy’s late night show for new music X-posure. You can listen again here for seven days after the show.

On Monday (21st Sept) Jackie received her first radio play of the single ‘Birthday’ from her ‘Hyperboreans’ album on Cerys Matthews daytime show on 6Music. To listen to the show follow this link and click ‘Monday’ on the right hand side of the page. The show will be available for seven days.  ‘Birthday’ will be released on 7” vinyl, with specially commissioned artwork by David Owen, on 2nd November with pre-release copies available at shows on Jackie’s October/November tour dates.

Her previous CD ‘The Violet Hour’ helped her to win two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards back in February. Well, I loved that album and I have to say, I love her new one ‘Hyperboreans’ even more. Jackie, accompanied by James Dumbleton, will be the guest of Claudia Winkleman on her BBC Radio 2 arts show this Friday (20th ) between 22.00 and midnight.

Jackie has just won 2 awards at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2009. The Horizon award and the award for Best Traditional Track.

Jackie has been nominated for Horizon Award and Best Traditional Track for ‘Lark in the Morning’ in this year’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2009. This is exciting news and she’s delighted that Phil Beer, her brother, Jim Moray and housemate Jim Causley also have nominations.
